Two Rules In Building A Shoe Wardrobe

There is really no need to have hundreds of shoes in your closet. A couple of pairs are enough as long as you have one for every occasion that you will be attending. This is especially true if you aren't the type to go out often or if you just don't have the budget to buy as many pairs as you want to. The key to building a good shoe wardrobe is to keep it simple and basic.

Below are some of the shoes that you absolutely need to have inside your shoe wardrobe.

Rule #1 - Stick to the neutrals

Although having shoes that are bright and colorful would be really interesting, a person who isn't realy into fashion or is just coming into being, should first stay on the safe side and just stick to the neutral colors. This way, they won't commit faux pas with the shoes that they are wearing.

In fact, experts advise to have a pair of shoes in four colors, white, black, beige, and brown. For formal occasions, you can stick with the silver and the gold and you won't go wrong with them.

Only when you have mastered the shoe-business; that's when you can buy colors that aren't so usual such as reds, pinks, yellows, oranges and greens.

Rule #2 - Have one pair for all kinds of occasions

Although there is really no general rule when it comes to what is appropriate to wear and what isn't, there are kinds of shoes that are only meant for certain occasions. And though it isn't exactly a requirement to know all the rules, being aware of what is appropriate and what isn't can spell the difference between fashion disaster and fashion success.

Invest in a sturdy pair of pumps for the office, preferably in the color black. You can also buy one in beige or in white depending on the colors of the suits that you have. You should also at least have one pair of rubber shoes and one pair of sneakers that you can wear for casual activities. The same goes with sandals, which you can wear when going to the beach or when going on a walk to the city park.

Another important must have in your shoe wardrobe is the stiletto. Choose one that is a bit sparkly so that you can wear them in dinner parties and other formal occasions where you will need to wear a dress.
